How do I know whether my roof needs replacing or repairing?

An inspection is the place to start. Localized problems, such as a few missing shingles, a failed pipe boot or damaged flashing, are usually repairable. What does a roof replacement include?

A complete system, built from the ground up rather than a single layer swapped out on its own. Replacement treats the roof as one job, from tear-off through to the final course, not a set of separate pieces bought and installed independently. What actually goes into a particular roof depends on its condition and the roofing system chosen, which the evaluation settles before anything starts. We follow the same sequence on every job, from understanding the problem through to cleanup.

Why does ventilation matter on a new roof?

Attic ventilation lets heat and moisture out. Trapped moisture works on the roof deck, and trapped heat works on the shingles above it, so ridge vents and ventilation work are part of getting a replacement right rather than an extra on the end of it.

Do you replace commercial roofs as well?

Can I stay in the house while the roof is being replaced?

Yes, in most cases. A tear-off and reroof happens above and around the house rather than inside it, so the house generally stays livable throughout, even though it is noisy and not the easiest environment for a call from home. We let you know beforehand roughly what to expect so it is not a surprise.
